We made this desk for inclusion in a show in Sheffield at the end of 2018 where it was featured alongside work by many other artists and makers with studios at Yorkshire Artspace. It is made from French and English oak.
The desk features a single wide drawer joined with hand-cut dovetails, and employs a process of cutting and re-joining the long pieces which form part of the top, to create a curve from the horizontal around to the vertical. The main legs stand at an angle of 8 degrees from the vertical, hence the desk’s name.
The piece is 150cm wide, 75cm from front to back, and 75cm high. It is finished with hard glaze and a top coat of finishing wax. It’s available to buy from our shop page or by emailing us directly.
